Priya Krishnamoorthy is a story-teller, arts manager, compulsive traveler, and a champion for all things handmade. From India, she is currently pursuing the Arts Administration program at Boston University as part of a Fulbright Fellowship. Priya holds an undergraduate degree in Political Science and post graduate diplomas in Broadcast Journalism and Arts Management from India. As a journalist and media professional for over eight years, Priya has contributed to award-winning shows and documentaries in India. In 2014, she attended the International Summer School of Cultural Economics organized by CREARE, Amsterdam, with support from the Prince Claus Fund. Thereafter, her work has focused on creating and communicating value for the arts. Before coming to the U.S., she managed a Mumbai-based gallery committed to creating lasting value for the indigenous and handmade. Her work is rooted in exploring bottom-up, participatory and inter-disciplinary frameworks through which under-served communities can be empowered. Her current research explores entrepreneurial models within the creative economy, especially cohort-based accelerators as tools to driving inclusion and diversity.
