Student Event Planning Support

Questrom students and student organizations who are interested in planning an event in Remo, host a zoom webinar, or interested in planning any type of in-person programming, should submit a request using the Questrom Event Support Request Form and a member of the Questrom Events and Conferences team will work with you to help plan, as well as build any custom events.

All event requests must be submitted at least two weeks before the event date, to allow ample time for our staff to work with you on the event support request.

Requesting a Remo Event

Questrom has contracted with the virtual event platform, Remo, to provide our community with a new way to share information and connect. This platform is great for social and networking-based events. All requests for hosting a virtual event using Questrom’s Remo license should be submitted through the event support request form.

If your date and time is available, you will receive a confirmation email from a staff member in Questrom Events and Conferences. If you need to change your date or time, please email us with these updates.

After receiving confirmation, you will be added as an Event Manager on the Questrom Remo license. This will provide you with access to create and manage your virtual event as well as download post-event data and recordings.

If you would like to arrange a demonstration of the event platform before planning an event, please email us and we will be happy to set this up.

Our Remo guides for hosts, attendees, speakers, and sponsors can be found here.

Requesting a Zoom Webinar Event

If you need to host a webinar, complete the Questrom Event Support Request Form. Webinars have slightly different functionality than meetings and should be considered when you plan to host a large event (100+ attendees) using a lecture or presentation format.

By default, most attendees can only view a webinar and their feedback is limited at the host’s discretion. Webinars include a Q&A option to allow attendees to ask questions of the panelists and interact with the rest of the meeting when called on by the hosts. Also, please note that webinars do not have the breakout room feature.

Requesting In-person Event Support

There are numerous restrictions in place issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the City of Boston, and Boston University due to COVID-19 that must be followed when planning any in-person gatherings.

To ensure everyone’s safety and well- being, all in-person events must be planned through Questrom Events and Conferences. If you are interested in planning any type of in-person programming, please submit a request using the Questrom Event Support Request Form.

Events approved to be held during the weekends in the Rafik B. Hariri Building must have a faculty/staff chaperone present at all times.
