Event & Coaching Appointment No-Show Policy
Questrom Graduate Students must provide notice of cancellation to the Grad Center prior to an appointment by contacting our front desk at (firstname.lastname@example.org or 617.353.2643) or the coach/advisor with whom their appointment is scheduled. While significant advanced notice for canceling your appointment is ideal, we understand things “pop up.” Therefore, students will be able to cancel your appointment all the way up to the start time of the appointment.
Compliance with the no-show policy ensures continued access to our Grad Center’s services.
Non-compliance with the no-show policy results in a “no-show-status” defined as missing any Grad Center appointment. If classified as a no show for three appointments in an academic year, your access to Grad Center services will be revoked. You will be invited to speak with the Assistant Dean to determine reinstatement of access to Grad Center services.
IMPORTANT: Unless otherwise indicated, each Grad Center-related event has an ID card reader or sign-in sheet. It is your responsibility to ensure that your ID be available OR that you sign in; otherwise, you will be considered a no show.
Interview No Show & Late Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel an on-campus interview, we require a minimum of 24 hours’ notice. If you do not notify us with 24 hours’ notice or no show for your interview, it will automatically count as your second no show. Your account and services will suspended. You will need to call the front desk at 617.353.2673 to schedule an appointment with Assistant Dean or Director of Employer Engagement. In this appointment, your attendance will be discussed and it will be determined whether to reinstate your account and services on a probationary basis.
Honesty and Integrity during your search process reflect character, personal brand, and the BU Questrom brand. The professionalism of Questrom students is a trademark recognized by employers. Our reputation is built on the quality of our students and their behavior and approach throughout the entire recruitment process.
Once you have accepted an official offer, you are expected to stop all other interviewing and searching activities and you are expected to fulfill the conditions of the internship that you have agreed to (include salary, location, housing etc.).
We remind all parties that they are subject to the terms of the offer agreements and the laws of the state in which the agreement is enacted.
We understand that outstanding circumstances may arise which would require a student to renege or an employer to rescind an offer. In these special, but rare cases, we encourage students and employers to speak with a Grad Center Career Coach or FCC Industry Relations Manager prior to any final decisions. Both situations can damage the reputations of the student, Questrom and/or the employer and the Career team is specially trained to help navigate these situations.
If a student reneges on an offer without outstanding circumstances (trailing spouse, health etc.) the student will lose career services for life and are banned from MBA Focus.
