LEI announced this week a new CEO, Eric Buehrens, who will take over for John Shook. The link below from Mark Graban’s LeanBlog includes Mark’s commentary, some interesting background and a link to the press release from LEI.
The commentary doesn’t make a big deal of the fact that Mr. Buehrens most recent career has been in healthcare — Beth Israel Deaconness, and Reliant. Along with Alice Lee as COO, LEI’s top two executives both come from deep experience in healthcare. That seems newsworthy for an organization whose lineage is based in manufacturing. Buehrens also spent career time in engineering, government, and higher education, but he may be best known for lean transformation in healthcare.
