{"id":1739,"date":"2025-08-19T15:31:03","date_gmt":"2025-08-19T15:31:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/questromworld.bu.edu\/test-site\/?page_id=1739"},"modified":"2025-08-19T15:31:03","modified_gmt":"2025-08-19T15:31:03","slug":"items-available-in-the-space-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/questromworld.bu.edu\/dei\/students\/items-available-in-the-space-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Questrom Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee"},"content":{"rendered":"<section  class='av_textblock_section av-s1rm7-69236009d6d411456aea05e7bcab6eb6 '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><h1><b>Questrom School of Business Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee<\/b><\/h1>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Founded in 2020, the Questrom School of Business Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (\u201cDE&amp;I\u201d) Committee is a standing committee of the school whose mission builds on a series of commitments made by Boston University, stretching back to its founding promise to admit students, \u201cwithout regard to religion, race, or gender,\u201d and finding expression most recently in the Trustees\u2019 Statement on Diversity. That Statement declares: \u201cWe strive to create environments for learning, working, and living that are enriched by racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity.\u201d\u00a0 The 2016 University Task Force on Faculty Diversity and Inclusion reminded us that \u201caspiring to excellence demands that BU remain committed to embracing the contributions of every single person, regardless of background, to our community.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The creation of the Committee is consistent with and responds to Boston University\u2019s 2030 Strategic Plan which considers DE&amp;I to be one of five strategic priorities for the university over the next decade.\u00a0 The purpose of the Questrom DE&amp;I Committee is to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion as core elements of academic excellence and a reflection of Questrom\u2019s values and community.\u00a0 We seek to help the school ensure an academic environment that welcomes, recognizes, and respects the identities of all members of our school and campus.\u00a0 The DE&amp;I Committee will collaborate with both the Associate Dean for DE&amp;I and Questrom faculty, staff, students, and alumni to develop, undertake, and oversee initiatives that focus on matters related to diversity, equity, and inclusion and to actively promote this agenda and program initiatives that incorporate DE&amp;I content and ideas into courses.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/section>\n<div  class='flex_column av-4hmkwf-ebc778126b88f4972a7f3cd0412a2251 av_one_half  avia-builder-el-1  el_after_av_textblock  avia-builder-el-last  first flex_column_div  column-top-margin'     ><section  class='av_textblock_section av-mau3k6k2-8273034073f9818012d850368aca11c3 '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/CreativeWork\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p><strong>Past Committee Reports<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This page is still a work in progress, if you are in need of an academic year report please email <a href=\"mailto:myQuestrom@bu.edu\">myQuestrom@bu.edu<\/a> to request it.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":1712,"menu_order":5,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"footnotes":"","_links_to":"","_links_to_target":""},"class_list":["post-1739","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.4 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Questrom Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee - Diversity &amp;
