{"id":1360,"date":"2018-12-10T09:18:36","date_gmt":"2018-12-10T14:18:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/questromworld.bu.edu\/faculty\/?p=1360"},"modified":"2022-10-24T15:20:00","modified_gmt":"2022-10-24T15:20:00","slug":"fall-2018-grading","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/questromworld.bu.edu\/faculty\/2018\/12\/10\/fall-2018-grading\/","title":{"rendered":"Fall 2018 Grading"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations as we bring Fall 2018 in for a landing.\u00a0 As the end of the semester approaches, I would like to remind you of the deadlines and procedures for grading your Questrom classes.<\/p>\n<h3>Grading Information:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Do not use a grade of \u201cMG\u201d per Questrom policy. Students who never attended class or neglected to drop a course should be given a grade of \u201cF.\u201d This grade can be changed at a later time in appropriate circumstances.<\/li>\n<li>Incomplete grades are to make accommodations for students with an unforeseen medical emergency or family crisis. Incomplete grades are not to spare a student from receiving a bad grade, nor to create an uneven playing field by giving certain students more time than their classmates to complete course requirements. All students who receive a grade of \u201cI\u201d should complete an \u201cincomplete grade contract\u201d with the faculty. Incomplete grades must be resolved by the end of the following semester (or within one year for PhD students) or they will changed to an \u201cF.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Grade lists are not to be posted by any means, even if the student\u2019s identity is concealed with a unique identifier. Students can see their final grade on the Student Link as soon as they are submitted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>WebGrade Information:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>All grades need to be submitted via the \u201cFaculty Link\u201d. Simply log on at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/link\/shortcut\/faculty\">www.bu.edu\/link\/shortcut\/faculty<\/a> and select your class.<\/li>\n<li>Grading is a 2-step process. The first step is to enter and save your grades. The second step is to submit your grades. For step-by-step instructions on how to use WebGrade, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/reg\/general-information\/webgrade-for-instructors\/\">https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/reg\/general-information\/webgrade-for-instructors\/<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Grading Deadlines:<\/h3>\n<p>All grades must be submitted within 72 hours of the last class deliverable, and under no circumstances should any grades be missing as of 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 23. (In fact, we are hoping to get everything resolved when the University shuts up shop at 5:00 p.m. on Friday the 21st; please let me know if you anticipate going beyond this.\u00a0 Thanks!)\u00a0 Many of our graduate students rely on employer reimbursement, which requires grades to be posted in order to process.
