Your Class Meeting Time and Location<\/h3><div class=\"special-heading-border\"><div class=\"special-heading-inner-border\"><\/div><\/div><\/div><br \/>\n<section  class='av_textblock_section av-av_textblock-0366cc7376be6c9e82a3e9cc8987b64f '   itemscope=\"itemscope\" itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/BlogPosting\" itemprop=\"blogPost\" ><div class='avia_textblock'  itemprop=\"text\" ><p>I strongly encourage you to consult the University Class Schedule to review your finalized class meeting time and location.\u00a0 The University Registrar\u2019s Office was grappling with both the adoption of the new university block schedule (see below) and new \u201coptimizing software\u201d which put them well behind their usual pace and meant that rooms weren\u2019t finalized until just before Christmas.\u00a0 You should consult the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/link\/\">Link<\/a> (click \u201cFaculty\u201d and \u201cClass Lists\u201d).\u00a0 Should this not work, you may consult the general <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/link\/bin\/uiscgi_faculty.pl\">University Class Schedule<\/a> (choose \u201cSPRG 2017\u201d and \u201cQST\u201d \u2013 contact me with questions) to verify your location and time.<\/p>\n<p>Most of you will recall that Spring 2017 marks the semester when we enter the brave new world of the university block schedule.\u00a0 The effects of this change will include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Some undergraduate courses switching to a<span>Monday<\/span>\/<span>Wednesday<\/span>\/<span>Friday<\/span> (50 minutes per session) offering pattern.<\/li>\n<li>Other courses that were listed on the schedule as meeting twice weekly for 90 minutes, but with an implied dismissal time 10 minutes prior, will now be listed as 75 minutes with the expectation that they will meet for that entire period.\u00a0 To emphasize, <strong>the time listed on the class schedule is now the actual meeting time!<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>In most cases, there is a built-<span>in 15 minute<\/span> passing time between classes, rather than the previous (implied) 10 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Evening courses now begin at <span>6:30<\/span> and let out at <span>9:30<\/span>.<\/li>\n<li>The afternoon sections of the undergraduate Cross-Functional Core will begin at <span>12:20<\/span> (MWF) and <span>12:30<\/span> (TR).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A fuller description of the changes brought about by the conversion to the new university block schedule appear at the end of this email for your reading pleasure.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/p><\/div>\n\n<style type=\"text\/css\" data-created_by=\"avia_inline_auto\" id=\"style-css-av-av_one_full-6126cab7d8fab8d08143dd2dacdf673c\">\n.flex_column.av-av_one_full-6126cab7d8fab8d08143dd2dacdf673c{\nborder-radius:0px 0px 0px 0px;\npadding:0px 0px 0px 0px;\n}\n<\/style>\n<div  class='flex_column av-av_one_full-6126cab7d8fab8d08143dd2dacdf673c av_one_full  avia-builder-el-5  el_after_av_one_full  el_before_av_one_full  first flex_column_div av-zero-column-padding  column-top-margin'     ><p>\n<style type=\"text\/css\" data-created_by=\"avia_inline_auto\" id=\"style-css-av-av_heading-226ee8f9c0b364601797cb291084ae89\">\n#top .av-special-heading.av-av_heading-226ee8f9c0b364601797cb291084ae89{\npadding-bottom:10px;\n}\nbody .av-special-heading.av-av_heading-226ee8f9c0b364601797cb291084ae89 .av-special-heading-tag .heading-char{\nfont-size:25px;\n}\n.av-special-heading.av-av_heading-226ee8f9c0b364601797cb291084ae89 .av-subheading{\nfont-size:15px;\n}\n<\/style>\n<div  class='av-special-heading av-av_heading-226ee8f9c0b364601797cb291084ae89 av-special-heading-h3 blockquote modern-quote  avia-builder-el-6  el_before_av_textblock  avia-builder-el-first '><h3 class='av-special-heading-tag '  itemprop=\"headline\"  >II. Please respond to that e-mail as quickly as possible so that we can move along with the final exam scheduling process. The final exam period is\u00a0<strong><span>May 8-12<\/span><\/strong>. The final exam schedule will be finalized and published in February. The Registrar\u2019s Office provides a\u00a0grid setting the final exam times and dates according to where courses fall in the class schedule.
