Fellows will be placed into one of the following four areas

Employment

Employment attorneys represent workers that have experienced wage theft, and those that have been wrongfully denied unemployment benefits. The unit also runs a Low-Income Taxpayer Assistance Project, and advocates for changes to law, rules, and regulations affecting low-income workers.

Immigration

Immigration attorneys protect human rights by representing low-income immigrants, prioritizing cases of immigrants seeking permanent refuge and safe haven, individuals subjected to domestic violence, and unaccompanied children.

Elderly, Health, and Disability

The Elder, Health and Disability unit advocates on behalf of elders, people with disabilities, and families, promoting access to quality healthcare, Social Security or Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and affordable housing for elders.

Asian Outreach Project

The Asian Outreach Project provides guidance, referral services and free legal assistance to nearly 1,000 low-income Asian immigrants each year. Our clients count on us for the most basic needs for themselves and their families. Our goal is to be a gateway to legal services the low-income Asians who rely on us.
