- Students are required to be in AT LEAST 6 credits per semester to be eligible for federal loans.
- Continuing students will not be awarded until prior semester grades are finalized for Satisfactory Academic Progress

Where can I find my BU ID number? | • Login to your application portal using the login and password that originally used while applying • On the main page of the application, should select “Supporting Information” • Once you are in “Supporting Information,” click on “University Affiliation” and your BU ID will be there." |
How do I get a parking pass? | Prior to the start of the semester this can be done on the Student Link under the personal tab. Other than that you must contact Parking & Transportation Services at 617-353-2160 or parking@bu.edu |
I haven't received a 1098-T. How can I get one? | Student Accounting Services provides 1098Ts. Information on how to access the 1098T online can be found on their website. |
How do changes in my enrollment impact my financial aid? | Any changes in enrollment can impact your financial aid due to changes in your overall cost of attendance. Cost of Attendance is driven by the number of credits/length of courses. |
I had loans from a previous degree. Where do I send my in school deferment form? | The Office of the University Registrar is responsible for confirming all enrollment. You can either go in person to their office, fax (617-353-1869), email a scanned copy of the form to registrar@bu.edu or mail the form to them. Loans
How do I adjust/cancel my federal loans? | Students can adjust/cancel their federal loan by submitting the UNSUB Loan Adjustment Form |
I submitted my FAFSA but have not received information regarding my financial aid decision. | Please be sure that you have completed the UNSUB Loan Application. This is required in addition to the FAFSA. |
My federal loan appears as pending on the Student Link. Is there anything else I need to complete? | Loans cannot be disbursed to Boston University more than 7 days before the official first day of classes for the semester. However, there may be additional requirements needed if you have not completed the Entrance Counseling and/or Loan Agreement (MPN) |
Payment/Billing
How do I view my Student Account? | For individualized and up-to-date information regarding your Student Account, please visit the Student Link by selecting "Money Matters" then "Student Account Inquiry". |
I am in less than 12 credits but being charged full-time tuition. | Students should contact their Academic Advisor. Their advisors will adjust their certification code, which will update their charges. |
Does BU offer payment plans? | Student Accounting Services provides payment plan options for students. |
How do I submit a refund request? | Please go to the "Managing Your Account" section of our website to view instructions on who to request a refund. |
I already have Health Insurance. How do I remove the charge from my student account? | Health Insurance is required for all full-time, three-quarter-time, and international students. These students are automatically enrolled and their student accounts charged for SHIP. If you have comparitable coverage, this can be waived on the Student Link by selecting “Medical Insurance Status – Confirm/Waive” and complete the waiver form. |
I submitted a refund request on the Student Link but I am not sure of that status. | Refund requests are processed through Student Accounting services but may require the approval from financial aid, these may take 7 to 11 business days to be deposited into students accounts. Tara or Somaly are able to look at a students refund request. |
I have a question about the charges on my student account. | Student Accounting services is responsible for all billing. If you have additional tuition charges, you should first touch base with your academic advisor, the charges may be do to an adjustment they have to make on your account. |
I cannot register for classes because there is a financial hold on my account. What should I do? | Students must settle their financial obligation to the University each semester to be able to register or be awarded. To resolve a financial hold on your student account, you will need to settle your account through Student Accounting Services. |
Scholarships/Outside Resources
Are there additional scholarship opportunities? | All Questrom Scholarships are awarded at the time of acceptance through Graduate Admissions. Students can research private scholarship opportunities to find opportunities they may qualify for. |
I am a full-time MBA Student. What happens to my scholarship when I enroll part-time in my last semester of the MBA program? | Student's scholarships are pro-rated when they go part time in the last Spring semester, but the scholarship cannot exceed tuition charges. Students must contact their Academic Advisors to confirm their part-time status. If enrolling in 6 credits students keep 50% of their scholarship, 9- 75%, 3-25%. |
My company provides tuition reimbursement after I receive my grades. Can I delay paying my bill? | There is a payment plan 2 is created for part-time students receiving tuition reimbursement. |
I am a BU employee. How do I get tuition Remission? | Employees should contact HR for all aspects of tuition remission. |
