CONGRATULATIONS FULL-TIME MBA STUDENTS!
WELCOME TO QUESTROM
The MBA Center is thrilled to welcome you to Questrom. This is an exciting time, but we know it can be a bit overwhelming, too. First, let’s get you started with your next steps, which outline important actions you need to take before you start your program with us officially in August. The side bar important dates and deadlines outlines the order in which you should complete these next steps – both required tasks and optional events and workshops.
We look forward to opportunities to engage with you and the community over the summer. We will continue to update you with ways to get involved, and how to prepare for fully in-person life in Boston, beginning in August. Please return to this page frequently for updates.
Here you’ll find a range of resources that will guide you as you transition to Boston and become a Questrom student.
Academic Pre-Work
In preparation for LAUNCH and the Fall Semester, all students must complete mandatory summer pre-work on Blackboard. Look for Pre-Work – FT MBA Class of 2023 and read specific instructions for submitting each of the assignments.
Please note that assignments are due on August 13 at 11:59PM and may take some time to complete.
For those coming in with little or no background in these areas, this preparation is particularly critical, and you should allow up to 40 hours total prep time. For those with prior background, the time required should be significantly less.
Curriculum
Look for communications from the MBA Center in late June, which will include information about the curriculum, registration, and more. Your academic advisor will register you for your Fall semester classes in late Summer.
Textbooks and Course Packets
Your courses may require a combination of textbooks and course packets. Course packets consist of photocopied lessons and readings.
We request you order your ES735 Team Coaching textbooks prior to LAUNCH:
Other Mod 1 textbooks will be made available at the BU Barnes & Noble bookstore at 910 Commonwealth Ave beginning in mid-August. These textbooks will also be shared on your Blackboard Pre-work site later in Summer.
In late August, you can reserve any required course packets online.
Career Pre-Work
There are several steps to your career pre-work, which will be detailed on your MBA 1st Year Career Site on Blackboard. You have multiple deadlines beginning July 1.
Career Development
Creating a meaningful career plan and executing a successful job search takes eort, and is an integral part of your graduate school experience. The MBA Center and the Feld Center for Industry Alliances are skilled and active partners that will work with you throughout this process. You will learn more about our career coaching team this summer and when you arrive on campus for orientation. In the meantime, you can get a head start by exploring Questrom’s Feld Center for Industry Alliances’s own webpage.

Health Requirements
The university requires health history information, alcohol and sexual assault prevention course completion, and immunizations (required by law). By law, these health requirements must be submitted before you can register for classes. Additionally, BU requires all students to have received a Covid-19 vaccination or to have been approved for an official Covid-19 vaccination waiver. Failure to complete the mandatory health requirements will result in a hold on your Student Account. While you will set up your BU e-mail account in June to complete this process, we highly recommend reviewing requirements – particularly related to immunizations – now.
Navigate to Student Health Services and click on “Getting Started,” followed by, “I need to complete my incoming health requirements.” This will direct you to the Health Requirements Guide and answer any questions you may have.
Student Health & Insurance
We care about your health and well-being while you pursue your degree. BU’s Student Health Services is ready to help you get started navigating their services. SHIP is Boston University’s health insurance plan for students. The 2021-2022 plan begins on August 15th, 2021.
