Summer registration opens at 7am on Thursday, February 20, 2020.
Compliance
Compliance
In order to register for the Summer semester, you must be in compliance with all University policies, including meeting all immunization requirements, settling your student account, acknowledging the Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Law, updating a local address, and having a current BU Alert number on record. To check your compliance status, click the purple “Personal” tab, and then select “Compliance Status.”
Failing to update a BU Alert number and local address every semester is the most common issue that keeps you out of compliance.

The Summer schedule is available via the Summer Term website and the Student Link. The Summer PDF is the most up to date place to find schedule information.
Every effort is made to keep these schedules accurate in the event of changes due to a switch in staffing, room, or cancellation due to low enrollment. If you sign up for a class that is ultimately cancelled, you will be notified via your BU email account.
Alternative Format Courses
Alternative Format Courses Summer 2020
The courses listed below meet in a concentrated, two-week format, and are reserved initially for PEMBA students. The classes will meet Monday-Thursday from 6:30-9:15pm and Saturday from 9am-6pm on the scheduled dates. The courses are as follows:
- MK845 Social Media Marketing (Summer 2) – Meets July 14, 15, 16, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, and 25 only
- MK854 Branding (Summer 1) – Meets May 18, 19, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28 and 30 only
- SI839 Design Thinking and Innovation (Summer 2) – Meets July 27, 28, 29, 30, Aug 1, 4, 5, 6 and 8 only

MBA+MSDi Summer Intensives
MBA+MSDi Summer Intensives
The MBA+MSDi Summer 2020 intensives will run from Monday, May 11th – Friday, May 29th (excluding weekends and Memorial Day, observed on May 25th). MBA+MSDi students are automatically registered for the summer intensive courses.
PEMBA Accelerated Core
PEMBA Accelerated Core Intensive
MG760 Integrated Core Simulation will run 5/7/20 – 5/14/20. Students will be expected to work on their own team projects between 5/11 and 5/13. The course meets as follows:
- Thursday, May 7, 6:30 pm – 9:15 pm
- Saturday, May 9, 8:00 am – 5:00pm
- Thursday, May 14, 6:30 pm – 9:15 pm

- SI718 Topics in Corporate Strategy and Innovation – June 10-July 1
- PL700 Introduction to Business Law – May 11-June 3
Dropping a Course in the Summer
Dropping a Course in the Summer
Students may withdraw from a course in either summer session using the Student Link prior to the first day of the summer session. If the drop is processed prior to the first day of either term, full tuition and fees will be credited or refunded. If the drop is processed on or after the first day of either summer session and before the published drop date, the student is responsible for the registration fee only. If the drop is processed after the date published by the MBA Center, the student is responsible for the full tuition and fees and will receive a ‘W’ for the course. Unlike the Fall and Spring semesters, students can drop all of their summer session courses using the Student Link’s WebReg.
