Setting up your BU Credentials
Email Set Up | BU Login Name | Kerberos Password | MyBU Student Portal
Due to the University’s upcoming transition to a new student information system this spring, there will be a delay in the BU credential creation process. Please anticipate receiving an email from BU Information Technology in mid-March, providing instructions on how to “claim your account.”
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation during this transitional period. If you have any immediate concerns or questions, feel free to reach out to questromphd@bu.edu.
Once you enroll at Questrom, unless you already have BU credentials, you will be required to set up your BU email and Kerberos password, along with your BU login name. Your BU login name and Kerberos password will be used for all BU-related sign-ins and your BU email will be the primary form of communication for official emails from the university once created. Your BU login name and Kerberos password will also grant you access to your MyBU Student Portal.
You will be sent an email from BU Information Technology which will indicate you should “claim your account”. The email will come from ithelp@bu.edu and the subject line will be: Boston University Account Claim Next Steps. This email will usually trigger within 48 hours of signing your Declaration of Intent and receiving confirmation from the admissions team that you are confirmed to attend Questrom.
Helpful information regarding your BU Email:
- You can visit bu.edu/myaccount where you can access helpful tools if you forgot your password, forgot your BU Login (username), or if you need to unlock your account. No need to answer security questions or call the Help Center.
- Looking for instructions on how to check your BU email? IT has you covered. More details here.
- If you would like to forward your BU email on to your personal email – follow the steps outlined here.
- Any issues related to email should be sent to BU IT via their Contact Us form. However, please use the self-service feature on bu.edu/myaccount before contacting IT.
