Mod Live Sessions

Synchronous sessions play a central role in your online learning experience. They let you interact in real time, build relationships, and strengthen your connection with both faculty and peers. These live sessions demonstrate the program’s commitment to collaboration and engagement.

We announce sessions well in advance to help you plan. When scheduling changes occur, we provide flexible attendance options to keep you on track.

Weekly Mod Live Sessions

  • Occur once per week at two convenient times: 7:00 AM EST and 8:00 PM EST
  • Accommodate a globally distributed student cohort
  • Include live discussions, interactive learning, and direct access to faculty

Mod 0 and Mod 1 Live Sessions

  • Typically take place on Thursdays (the day may vary in later Mods)
  • Last 2 hours per session
  • Recordings are available so you can review content or catch up if you miss a session

Module Structure

Each Online MBA (OMBA) Mod runs for one semester (14 weeks) and is taught by a team of expert faculty . Rather than taking separate courses like accounting or operations, you’ll experience a fully integrated curriculum where core business concepts are embedded directly into real-world problem solving.

Each Mod combines individual and team assignments, letting you apply knowledge in real projects. With a strong emphasis on peer-to-peer learning, you gain insights from classmates and faculty alike, creating a dynamic experience that builds the skills to tackle complex business challenges.

Infomation on

MOD 0 and MOD 1 for January 2026 Entrants

OMBA Mod 0 – Pre-Work

Asynchronous pre-work will be available starting on December 5, 2025. This will allow you time to start to review materials and get acclimated to the program, on your own time, and at your own pace!  Details on the pre-work and how to get started will be shared by the student success team to your BU email on Friday, December 5.

OMBA Mod 0 – Weeks 1 and 2

Week-1 Mod 0 materials will launch Thursday, December 18 at 8am eastern time (ET)– at this point the program will officially begin. Content for future weeks will release on Fridays at 8 am which will mirror the cadence and weekly learning journey you’ll follow in future MODs. Content each week will include readings, activities, and assignments.

Though week 1 content will release on December 18 you will not have live sessions until January 8 and January 15 – so you’ll have plenty of time to connect with your team and get situated before the Mod 0 live sessions in January. Once week 1 launches, you’ll see new material in the course, and this material will be required to pass the course.  You’ll also receive your Mod 0/1 team on December 18. 

Please note: Boston University and all offices included the Admissions Office, Success Team, BU IT etc. will be closed for the university intersession between December 20, 2025 and January 2, 2026. The university will reopen on Monday, January 5 and we will handle any issues/questions/concerns at that time. Though the university will be closed, our hope is opening the content up in mid-December will allow you ample time to finish the pre-work and start week 1 before the first live on January 8.

Live Sessions are offered at 7am and 8pm ET on Thursdays and each session will run for 2 hours. You can attend either the AM or PM session during MOD 0 but must attend on both dates. 

**You will need to check your BU email for information about the launch of Mod 0 and how to access the content. This email will share the first week’s learning journey and information on how to access the technology and platforms**

OMBA Mod 1

*Week-1 Mod 1 materials will launch on Friday, January 16, 2025 at 8am eastern time (ET)*– The first live of Mod 1, which is mandatory, will take place on Thursday, January 22, 2026. Mod 1 will conclude on May 2, 2026 at 11:59 pm. There will be at least 7 required lives throughout the semester:
