To request transfer equivalency for business courses that you took at your previous university or college, the following conditions must be met:
1. Only the following business course are eligible for transfer equivalency: AC221 Financial Accounting, AC222 Managerial Accounting, BA222 Modeling Business Decisions and Market Outcomes with Spreadsheets and Statistical Programming,IM345 International Management, IS223 Introduction to Information Systems, LA245 Introduction to Law, MO221 The Dynamics of Leading Organizations, QM221 Probabilistic and Statistical Decision Making for Management, QM222 Modeling Business Decisions and Market Outcomes, and SM275 Management Communications.
2. Students entering Questrom prior to fall of 2021 must have received a B or better for the course you are appealing. Students entering Questrom in the summer/fall of 2021 or after must have received a C or better for the course you are appealing.
3. You must have received Questrom elective credit for the course(s) you are appealing. For example, if you took Financial Accounting at your previous institution, your transfer credit evaluation must show QST AC 2** credit equivalency for that course. This information can be found through your Student Link, under the Academics Tab, by clicking the External Credits & Test Scores Tab. If you took a business statistics course and received CAS MA 1**, CAS MA 113, 115, or 116 the course can be reviewed for QST QM 221 or 222. Similarly, if you received COM CO 1**, elective credit, for a business communications course the course can be reviewed for QST SM 275.
4. You may appeal for transfer equivalency only once per course, and you must do so in accordance with the following deadlines:
External Transfer Students who were direct admits into the Questrom School of Business for the fall 2022 semester may first submit by July 11, 2022, appeals submitted by this date will receive a response before the start of the academic year. The final deadline to appeal is September 19, 2022 to receive a response before spring course registration.
One final review of new fall 2022 external transfer credits will take place until Tuesday, November 1, 2022. NO EXTERNAL CREDITS WILL BE REVIEWED AFTER THIS DATE. Responses submitted at this time are not guaranteed to have a response prior to registration.
Intra University Transfers to Questrom who are external transfers to Boston University and took business course(s) prior to attending BU must submit appeal(s) within two weeks of receiving the IUT acceptance email. For these student, this is the only opportunity to submit appeal(s) and have your course(s) reviewed. Appeals received after the two week deadline will not be considered. Appeals will be reviewed and students will be informed by the 15th of the following month.
If your appeal is granted, you will receive transfer equivalency and will not need to take the respective course.
If your appeal is denied, you will retain the elective credit for your previous course but will need to take the equivalent Questrom course.
