Advising During University COVID-19 Response
Virtual Drop-in Advising
Monday and Tuesday: 10am – 12pm
Thursday and Friday: 1 – 3pm
When you sign in for virtual drop-ins, you will be greeted by a UDC staff member to identify the topic that you wish to discuss and ensure that you are connected with the best person to assist you. Once that is determined, you will be provided a virtual waiting room with the message “Please wait, the meeting host will let you in soon.” You will be joined by an advisor as soon as one is free to meet. UDC staff will be managing the waiting room behind the scenes to ensure students are met with as efficiently and effectively as possible by the advising team.
In-Person Drop-in Advising
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday: 1-3pm
Thursday and Friday: 10am – 12pm
When arriving for an-in person scheduled appointment, be sure to wear a mask and be prepared to show your green badge and BU ID.
Scheduled Appointments with an Advisor
Academic and career advisors conduct virtual appointments on Zoom and in-person appointments at the Rafik B. Hariri Building. All appointments should be scheduled via Handshake.

May I see the course/instructor evaluations for the courses I’m interested in taking?
Yes!! QuestromApps features a Course/Instructor Evaluation Search. Students are also welcome to review students’ comments from previous semesters by visiting the Undergraduate Academic & Career Development Center.
My Class is Full, What Do I Do?
If the class is in Questrom, please submit a waitlist form as soon as possible. The sooner you fill out the form, the higher chance you will be able to join the class.
Additionally, you should register for a backup option. We will do everything we can to ensure that you can graduate on time. Keep in mind, once a class fills, you will not be able to add it via the StudentLink. The Link may show open seats, but those will be filled through our waitlist system.
Once classes begin, you’ll follow the Add/Drop procedures.
If the class is not in Questrom, please contact that school’s advising office to learn their policies for full courses. Most likely you will have to keep checking the StudentLink to see if someone drops the class. You can also try going to the first day of class with an Add/Drop Form to see if the professor has enough space to sign you into the class.
Why Can’t I Register?

Permission Required?
Many Questrom courses indicate ‘Permission Required’ due to the restrictions pertaining to the courses, and this does not mean that you have to obtain permission. Questrom students can register for Questrom courses if they have the appropriate pre-requisites. Non-Questrom students can register for several Questrom courses according to the restrictions and timing indicated here.
