Registration/Schedule
You will be registered for your first semester of courses by your academic advisor. There is no need to do anything regarding registration at this time. Your academic advisor will notify you about your schedule approximately one month prior to the start of your program.
Advanced Standing Course Waivers
Candidates applying to the Part-Time MBA program are considered for Advanced Standing Course Waivers and are notified at the time of admission. If you did not receive any waivers or believe you qualify for additional waivers, please feel free to contact the admissions team at mba@bu.edu to discuss your eligibility. The full course waiver policy can be found here.
Part-Time MBA Core Level Up
Part-Time MBA students who do not qualify for a waiver of advanced standing, but believe they have professional experience that satisfies the knowledge learned in the core course in a specific domain may elect to “level up” by taking a predetermined elective within the same domain and meeting specific grade criteria.
- Choosing to level up does not reduce the number of credits required for a student to graduate.
- Students must earn a B+ or better in a level up course to satisfy their core requirement.
- If a student earns a B grade or lower in their approved level up course, it will satisfy an elective requirement and the student will be required to take the core course to fulfill their requirement.
- A student must submit the request form at least 14 days prior to the start of the semester in which they plan to take their level up course. Late and retroactive requests will not be accepted.
More information can be found on the Part-Time MBA Core Level Up Form.
