Financial Aid

The goal of Questrom Graduate Financial Aid is to make your graduate degree financially possible. Our staff will work with you to review financing options, determine eligibility for specific programs, and help you select the best possible means for securing your degree. Please email Questrom Financial Aid with specific questions about programs and procedures or to discuss your options for financing your degree. Listed below are Questrom’s graduate financing options.

Graduate Aid Options

  • Scholarships

    Merit Scholarships:

Boston University Questrom School of Business awards generous merit scholarships to the most highly qualified residential candidates. Merit based scholarships are awarded at the point of admission and are determined by Questrom Graduate Admissions. Please visit our Scholarships page for more information.

    Private Scholarships:

Private Scholarships are monetary awards given to applicants that do not have to be repaid and are sponsored by a benefactor or organization. These funding sources are not affiliated with Boston University and require students to research and apply on their own. Please visit our Scholarships page for additional resources.

  • Federal Direct Loans

    Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan:

Available to U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents. This federal program offers a lower-interest loan to students for educational expenses. Please visit the Federal Direct Loans page for more information.

    Federal Graduate PLUS Loan:

Available to U.S. citizens and U.S. permanent residents who qualify as creditworthy. The Graduate Federal Direct PLUS is a federal credit-based loan, which is available to assist students with the costs of higher education. The student borrower must pass the PLUS loan credit check review and cannot have an adverse credit history. This is a 2nd loan option in addition to the Direct Unsubsidized Loan. Please visit the Federal Direct Loans page for more information.

  • Private Educational Loans

    Private Educational Loans:

Available to U.S. citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents, and international students with a U.S. co-borrower. U.S. citizens and Permanent Residents who qualify as creditworthy do not require co-borrowers. International students, however, must apply with a creditworthy U.S. citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident with a U.S based address, unless using a lender who does not require a co-signer. Please visit the Private Educational Loans page for more information.

  • Alternative Payment Options

    Outside Agency Sponsorship:

Outside Agency Sponsorship is where the student requests to bill all or part of their tuition to a sponsor, government, or company.

If the sponsorship billing is accepted, it will be applied to the student account as an anticipated payment, and the sponsor will be invoiced after the semester course adjustment date has passed. For more information, please visit our Outside Agency Sponsorship page.

    Military Benefits:

Military education benefits, primarily through the GI Bill, offer financial assistance for eligible veterans and their dependents to pursue higher education, vocational training, and other educational programs. For more information, please contact BU’s Veterans and Military Services page.
