  • Math Prep Summer Course

    All incoming students are required to take MF600: Preparatory Mathematics & Statistics Review. This course is remote and runs from June 15 to August 17. Official dates to be announced at a later date. There is no extra cost to enroll in this program.

  • Programming Prep Summer Course

    All incoming students are required to take MF602: Python Programming Review. This course is remote and runs in August. Official dates to be announced at a later date. There is no extra cost to enroll in this program.

  • Tools Tools
    Career Management Summer Course

    All incoming students are required to join the Career Management Summer Course. With American companies beginning their summer internship in the fall, starting this course will give you a proper start to the internship search before classes even begin. Official dates to be announced at a later date. There is no extra cost to enroll in this program.

  • LAUNCH Orientation

    The in-person, required LAUNCH orientation will take place beginning Wednesday, August 26.

    WHAT’S NEXT?


    The Graduate Admissions & Financial Aid Office is thrilled to welcome you to Boston University Questrom School of Business and the Masters of Science in Mathematical Finance & Financial Technology program.

    This is an exciting time, but we know it can be a little overwhelming, too. First, let’s get you started with your next steps. Below is an outline of important dates and details to help make your transition to Questrom as smooth as possible. This site also provides you with information on resources available to you as an MSMFT student, as well as frequently asked questions. Looking to connect with current MSMFT students? Feel free to reach out directly.  Have questions about financial aid? We’ve got your covered.  Most importantly, don’t forget, the Graduate Admissions team is always an email or call away to answer any questions you have.

    We can’t wait to see your success!

    • Submit Your Initial Deposit

      You can find your due date for your $2,000 enrollment deposit in your offer of admission. In addition, please note that your final $1,000 confirmation deposit must be submitted by May 13, 2026.

    • Meet Your Classmates

      You will receive a separate invitation to join your admitted student group chat.

    • Contact a Current Student

      Looking for insight to what it’s like to be an MSMFT student? Contact our students and ask them about their experience in the program.

    • Mark Your Program Start Date

      Your MSMFT program begins with your mandatory virtual preparatory courses. The preparatory courses will be fully online with weekly synchronous meetings where attendance will be recorded.

      • Math Prep Course: Monday, June 15 – August 17
      • Programming Prep Course: TBA
      • Career Management Course: TBA

      Prep courses will be followed by your in-person LAUNCH Orientation which is taking place in late August 2026. LAUNCH is mandatory for all incoming students. Details are forthcoming.

    • Lookout for Master’s & PhD Center Communications

      In June, you will begin to receive communications from the Master’s & PhD Center about LAUNCH, your class schedule, and more.

    • Send Your Official Documents

      If you applied to Questrom with unofficial or scanned copies of your transcripts or test scores, remember to send us your official documents.

    • Review Incoming Health Requirements

      Review your BU Incoming Health Requirements. Student Health Services will be in touch with you prior to your program start date.

    • Apply for Financial Aid

      Please click here for the 2026-2027 Instructions and Application for Federal Financial Aid.

      Visit the Graduate Financial Aid website for information concerning private educational loans and other outside resources.

    • International Students: Upload Required I-20 Documents

      Visit our International Student Visa page for a list of required documents, the submission process, and a list of FAQs.

    • Prepare for the Start of Your Program

      Review your Preparatory Mathematics and Statistics syllabus. This refresher course is designed for the entering class in the MS in Mathematical Finance program, and will prepare you for the rigorous core courses taught in the Fall Semester of your first year.
