Roman Macaya is a Costa Rican entrepreneur, biochemist, and politician. He currently serves as the President of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund, since 2018, leading Costa Rica’s fight against Covid 19. He previously served as the Costa Rican Ambassador in Washington from 2014 to 2018. Roman was BA in Chemistry from Middlebury College and a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
