Questrom School of Business Community

Our goal is to foster an intellectually vibrant community where each student can achieve his or her potential. We believe that the Questrom School of Business prepares students to be well-informed world citizens and business leaders. While thriving as one of the largest professional schools at BU, the Questrom School of Business has a small-town feel.

Over the course of their time here, students will get to know a number of the faculty and staff on a personal basis. We encourage this connection with the faculty both formally, through our faculty advising program, and informally, where a student can drop in to chat with a professor not only about courses, but also about interests and ideas. Many of the professors are or have been high-level executives and continue to be leading researchers in their fields.

Our community is housed in a state-of-the-art building which features:

The Undergraduate Development Center, where our staff of professional advisors and administrators support the activities of our students – in and out of the classroom – and work closely with our faculty to advance the mission of the school

The Feld Center for Industry Alliances, which provides career counselors to assist students in effective interviewing and career planning, as well as in finding internships and jobs

Questrom Ascend Fellowship
The Questrom Ascend Fellowship is open to Black/African-American, Hispanic/Latinx, Native American, Pacific Islander, and first-generation college students in our undergraduate program. Admitting up to 30 first-year Questrom undergrads, the program helps develop innovative and ethical leaders who understand the impact of business on society and strive to create value for the world. Our goal is to help you develop a support system through relationships fostered in the fellowship. You’ll expand your professional development, nurture your personal growth with a dedicated fellowship community, have access to mentorship opportunities, and more. ALPFA

ALPFA, founded in 1972, stands for the Association of Latino Professionals For America. ALPFA is a national non-profit organization that has become the largest Latino Association for business professionals and students with more than 90,000 members nationwide (this includes 43 professional and over 150 student chapters). ALPFA serves as the catalyst connecting professionals with decision makers at Fortune 1000 partners and other corporate members seeking diverse opportunities. In addition, ALPFA has developed various events at a local and national level to prepare students from college to career-ready professionals through mentorship, leadership training and development, job placement and community volunteerism. Boston University Finance & Investment Club

The Boston University Finance and Investment Club (BUFC) is an interactive, team-oriented group focused on mentoring its members from their first year of college to their first year on the job. Undergraduates of every class are able to contribute to BUFC’s fund through guided equity research, investment management, and quantitative finance programs. BUFC provides networking opportunities for its members to meet alumni, ranging from recent graduates to the senior executives. Fashion and Retail Association

The Fashion & Retail Association is BU’s only organization committed to connecting students to the competitive fashion and retail industry. This is a multi-faceted, complex industry which includes the areas of e-commerce, operations & supply chain, marketing, data analytics, buying and merchandising, design, and many more. Through guest speakers, networking events, New York City trips, and semi-annual fashion shows, our members gain valuable knowledge and experience to enter the industry post-graduation, whether on the creative or business end. Questrom Student Government

Questrom Student Government’s mission is to enhance the Questrom undergraduate experience by building community, advocating for students, and serving our classmates. We plan educational, community service, and social events for the Questrom undergraduate community and act as a liaison between students and the administration. There are many leadership opportunities available throughout the year and weekly General Assembly meetings are open to all Questrom undergraduates. BOSTON & BU

Boston University is an integral part of one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world. With the Green Line Trolley running down the center of the mile-long campus, Boston University provides countless opportunities for students to enrich their education outside of the classroom. Being enrolled at a leading business school within a large prestigious University provides students with the best of both worlds: they learn in-depth practical knowledge from true professionals and establish thoughtful appreciation for the arts and sciences from talented scholars. The balance of management and liberal arts in the curriculum allows students to interact with a diverse group of students who may be studying virtually anything. Our students have the opportunity to take courses in the humanities, social sciences, and natural sciences, as well as in more specialized fields like the fine arts, communication, and hospitality administration. Additionally, there are a host of student-run clubs and activities, which allow students an opportunity to build out-of-class relationships with their peers and interact with speakers from the business community.

Boston University also hosts one of the largest populations of international students in the United States, enriching the classroom for international and domestic students alike. Further enhancing the global experience, we offer an unmatched variety of study abroad opportunities.

FY101

FY101 is a one-credit class that serves as a semester-long introduction to BU and college life. Each section is taught in combination by a BU staff member and a student peer mentor – and there are sections just for Questrom students!

Students that register for this course meet weekly with a small group of other incoming students. Each meeting is designed to get to know each other and to navigate the transition to BU and Boston. Through discussions, activities, class field trips and program-wide events, you will learn how to get involved at BU, balance your time, adjust to BU classes and explore your personal interests and values as they relate to your first semester at BU.
