Global Management Experience Application

A Global Perspective
In its tradition of applied learning, the Questrom School of Business increasingly combines classroom concepts with opportunities to experience the realities of managing in a global environment. The Global Management Experience (GME) is a valuable part of that educational program.

Course Enrollment
The GME course is a 4-credit Spring 2026 elective, with preference given to fully enrolled juniors and seniors of all Boston University schools and colleges. Enrollment in the course may range from 20 to 30 students. You will not register yourself for this course. If you are accepted, we will register you in early December.

Travel & Class Requirements
In Spring 2026, we are traveling to Beijing & Shanghai! The travel component of the course will occur during Spring Break in March. The course also includes several preparatory classes in Boston (six before travel and two after your return). Please note that your passport must be valid through October 31st, 2026.

Application Process
Applications for the GME can be accepted beginning October 1st. Students must submit an application form, resume, and answers to the below questions, indicating why you would like to be selected for the course, no later than 9:00am (EST), on November 3rd. Faculty and staff will review all applications to make the selection. We will also do a complete a routine screening of your academic and judicial standing with the University. By November 19th, we will inform all students of their enrollment status, and will keep wait lists, if necessary. Should you be accepted to the program, a non-refundable $500 deposit will be required by December 3rd to confirm your enrollment.

Financials
In addition to standard tuition rates, GME requires a travel fee of $3,900 per person which covers airfare, all airport-hotel transfers, quality accommodations (based upon double occupancy), in-country transportation, company visits, and full group sightseeing. Students will be responsible for selected meals (some lunches and dinners) and personal spending money. If you are accepted into the course, to fully confirm your spot, there is a $500 deposit fee due on December 3, 2025 – via check made payable to Boston University, money order, or eCheck via the Student Accounts portal on myBU Student (with accompanying confirmation email sent to zstaude@bu.edu). If you need to drop the course for any reason, the $500 deposit fee is non-refundable. For fully enrolled students, the $500 will be applied towards the $3,900 travel fee.
