Blackboard Ultra
Build, manage, and deliver your Questrom courses through Boston University’s learning management system.
QUESTROM COURSE SETUP
Your Blackboard Course Is Created for You
Questrom courses are automatically created in Blackboard after they are set up by the Registrar in MyBU. Faculty do not need to manually request or create their Blackboard course sites.
Step 1 — Course Is Set Up in MyBU
The Registrar creates the course and its official course information in MyBU.
Step 2 — Blackboard Course Is Created
Once the course is available in MyBU, the corresponding Questrom Blackboard course is created automatically.
Step 3 — Prepare Your Course
When the course appears in Blackboard, instructors can begin adding content and preparing materials for students.
Don't see your course yet?
If you believe your course should already be available, confirm first with Questrom Registrar that your course has been created in MyBU and you are the assigned Primary Instructor.
If you still don’t see your course in Blackboard or you need to make a change to the course or combine sections, contact Questrom IT for assistance.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Quick Answers
How do I create a Blackboard course?
Faculty select the courses they want created in Blackboard through MyBU. Choose Create in Blackboard and select Ultra for courses that should use Ultra Course View.
Can I copy an existing course into Ultra?
Yes. BU provides options for migrating existing Original courses or copying content into an Ultra course. Plan your migration before the semester rather than converting a course while it is being taught.
When do students get access?
Students on the official roster are automatically given access to their Blackboard course site after registering, provided the course has been made available to students.
How do I make sure I don’t miss Blackboard deadlines or updates?
Use Blackboard’s notification settings to choose which course updates you receive by email, in your Activity Stream, or through push notifications in the Blackboard mobile app. You can receive alerts for upcoming due dates, new content, grades, feedback, announcements, and other course activity.
