Our Mission

The Health & Life Sciences Conference reflects the efforts of Health Sector Management MBA students at the Questrom School of Business. The Conference aims to elevate the level of discussion around the ever-changing needs and trends of the US health sector, to convene experts across the healthcare ecosystem, and to foster collaborative conversations.
We hope this Conference invigorates current health sector leaders and inspires the future generation to come together to address the challenges, and opportunities in this complex and constantly evolving field.

Susannah Rudel

Susannah Rudel

Conference Co-Chair

Susannah is a second year, full-time MBA/MPH dual degree student in the Health Sector Management program. She received her undergraduate degree in History from Amherst College. Following graduation from Amherst, she worked in editorial at UpToDate, an online clinical decision support resource for physicians. Prior to coming to Questrom, she worked at athenahealth on their electronic health record product. This past summer, Susannah interned in the Ambulatory Practice Management department at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, working on projects to improve patient experience. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a career in health care management, with a focus on improving access to and quality of care for underserved populations.

Siddharth Sood

Siddharth Sood

Conference Co-Chair

Sid is a full-time MBA student in the Health Sector Management program with a focus in Strategy and Finance. He holds a B.S. in both Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry as well as a concentration in Biochemical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. At UMass, he wrote a thesis on microbial interactions with applications to wastewater treatment in developing countries. Leading up to business school, Sid worked in QA on a medical device for DEKA Research & Development as well as in software QA at Aspen Technology. At the latter, he helped establish and scale the Performance Engineering team to support a semiannual release schedule. At Boston University, he has found success in case competitions and is a Teaching Assistant for a graduate-level Corporate Strategy course. He intends to pursue a career in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals with the long-term goal of introducing healthcare products to emerging markets.

Natassya Bedos

Natassya Bedos

Director of Digital Marketing and Content

Natassya is a second year, full-time MBA student in the Health Sector Management program. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, receiving a B.A. in Political Science concentrating in International Relations and was on the pre-medical track. Following graduation from UPenn, she trained to make the US National Women’s Rowing team in pursuit of the 2016 Olympics. Prior to coming to Questrom she worked in clinical trial project management at the Massachusetts General Hospital, overseeing multi-center trial implementation at partnering hospitals nationwide. Over the summer, Natassya interned at PwC in their Health Industries Advisory department, working on projects in pharmaceutical research and development operations and upon graduation, she plans to continue a career in health care consulting.

Jillian Yee

Jillian Yee

Director of Internal Marketing and Outreach

Jillian is a second year, full-time MBA/MPH dual degree student in the Health Sector Management program at Questrom. She received a B.S. in General Biology from the University of California San Diego. Following her undergraduate education, she worked in the nursing department in an animal hospital based in California. This summer, Jillian interned at Torrance Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles, California where she worked on a process improvement project with the goal of improving patient flow in specific departments in the hospital. She has a passion for the improvement of healthcare delivery systems and desires to contribute to the enhancement of the patient experience.

Yoalticitl (Alita) is a second year MBA student in the Health Sector Management program. After earning a BA in Economics, Alita worked at Electronica y Medicina, a company that produces and distributes medical devices in Mexico. There, she led a project to restructure business processes in order to obtain an ISO Quality Certificate. This summer Alita interned at the manufacturing plant of the same company developing the Master Production Scheduling and Strategy Plan. In addition to working on the Health and Life Sciences Conference, Alita serves as the President of the Latin American MBA Association.

Stephen Bruso

Stephen Bruso

Director of Finance and Fundraising

Stephen Bruso is a second-year MBA student in the Health Sector Management program. After graduating from Emory University in 2009, Stephen spent 3 years in a post-baccalaureate theological studies program, then transitioning to a series of biotech startups in the Boston area focused on rapid multiplex DNA sequencing. He also worked for IT Retail as a project manager, successfully developing and rolling out a cloud-based POS system for grocers. This summer Stephen interned with Alexion Pharmaceuticals in a strategic marketing position. After his MBA, Stephen plans on pursuing a career in the pharma/biotech field.

Shannon Smith

Director of External Marketing and Outreach

Shannon Smith is a part-time MBA student in the Health Sector Management program with a concentration in Marketing. She graduated from Rowan University, receiving a B.A. in Public Relations and a B.A. in Advertising. After graduation, Shannon began her career in marketing for Insulet Corporation, focusing on strategic new product portfolio marketing. Now, Shannon is a product marketing professional at Alexion Pharmaceuticals focusing on both legacy and new products. She has experience in strategic marketing, marketing communications, field sales communication strategies, digital marketing, and Peer-to-Peer HCP marketing. In her spare time, Shannon enjoys reading, trying new recipes and weather permitting, hiking and kayaking.

Michelle Lewis

Michelle is a second year, part-time evening MBA student, in the Health Sector Management program with a concentration in Leadership & Organizational Transformation. She graduated from Fordham University, receiving a B.A in Economics and concentration in Business Administration. Years later, she relocated home to Boston where she was a USA certified swim coach & instructor part-time. She spent 5+ years at Boston Children’s Hospital. She worked in the Training & Technology department as a Trainer to onboard and support end-users with Epic software and inter-departmental projects. She was promoted to an Ambulatory Supervisor where she managed 66 trainees in the hospital-wide patient experience training program. After graduation, Michelle is interested in continuing her career in healthcare management.

Assistant Director of Operations

Emily is a first year full time MBA/MPH dual degree student in the Health Sector Management program. She graduated George Washington University (GWU), receiving a B.A. in International Affairs, concentrating in Global Public Health. Following graduation from GWU, she served as a project coordinator at Massachusetts General Hospitals, Division of Global Health and Human Rights working with low cost high yield innovative technologies. Prior to starting at Questrom, she worked as a senior research analyst for Partners Healthcare Connected Health designing, developing and testing digital health solutions and redefining technology-enabled health. Emily intends to pursue a career in healthcare management, with a focus on healthcare delivery and operations.

Iswarya (Ishue) is a first year, full time MBA/MPH dual degree student in the Health Sector Management program at Questrom. She graduated with a B.S. in Human Development from UC Davis. Before coming to Questrom, Ishue worked for the Make-A-Wish Foundation as their Believe Campaign coordinator and with Knight Communications Inc., an IT company based in the Los Angeles area. She is passionate about health care policy, and upon graduation plans to pursue a career in health care policy and management.

Felicia Aguiar

Felicia Aguiar

Assistant Director of Digital Content & Media

Felicia is a first year, full-time MBA student in the Health Sector Management program. She received her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences from Boston University. Prior to coming to Questrom, she worked at ZurickDavis, a healthcare executive search firm in the Boston area. There she supported all internal and external search operations within the firm, while providing administrative services for clients from several different hospitals and mission-driven healthcare organizations. She has always had a passion for healthcare delivery and to improve patient experience. She intends to pursue a career in healthcare management.
