Use of Polycom Phones
The Polycom Conference phones such as the ones located in rooms 667, 603, 658, 615, and 562 are VoIP phones outside of the University phone system that are handy for phone related needs.
The numbers listed on the phones themselves can be called by one remote person at a time and will function as a standard phone but in order to have many remote callers on one conference phone you will need an audio bridge. Questrom ITS will set up such a bridge using BlueJeans conferencing technology at the users’ request. Please allow at least 48 hours of notice ahead of your teleconference event to ensure that the bridge can be created and numbers distributed in plenty of time.
To request please email questromhelp@bu.edu.
To Join a Conference
To join a BlueJeans teleconference call the appropriate number from this list based on your location (https://bluejeans.com/numbers) and you will be prompted to enter your meeting ID which will be provided by Questrom ITS.
NOTE: The conference room phone should be treated like another joining member of the meeting and will need to be connected to your BlueJeans meeting by calling +1.408.740.7256 and then entering the appropriate meeting ID.
Because the phones in these conference rooms do not have a University extension, they are incompatible with the central IS&T services found here: (https://www.bu.edu/tech/services/comm/conf/teleconferencing/meet-me/)
NOTE: The IS&T resource listed at the link above remain a viable option for organizing meetings on office phones or other phones with a BU extension.
